The article "Dry Fire Training — Misconceptions vs. Reality" by Clayton Walker on The Armory Life explores the benefits and limitations of dry fire training for firearms proficiency. Emphasizing that live fire is not the only method for building competence, it highlights airsoft training as a viable alternative for shooting sports enthusiasts, particularly in countries like Japan where private handgun ownership is restricted. Dry fire training, which simulates live rounds with an empty firearm, is cost-effective, especially with rising ammunition prices, and can significantly enhance skills such as trigger control and target acquisition. However, it stresses that dry fire is not a panacea, as many shooters continue to experience issues like recoil anticipation—often termed as "flinch"—despite mastering dry fire techniques. The article recommends incorporating snap caps, dummy rounds, and dry firing at the range to bridge the cognitive gap and eliminate ingrained bad habits, ensuring effective trigger manipulation across all shooting contexts. Ultimately, it underscores the necessity of integrating dry fire training into broader practice routines for improved marksmanship.

so i was discussing Aerith last night
#ffvii#aerith gainsborough#fanart#ff7#a friend convinced me to play og ff7 a year or two ago and it lives in my head rent free now#with the downside that i go a little feral anytime i see aerith portrayed as a soft uwu healer girl#i did not get that energy from her AT ALL#me: do we think she'd use one or two hands for the glock#husband (after some deliberation): she's a menace to society but she's a menace that understands the importance of proper firearm handling.#so two.

look I know it's part of a much larger and trickier issue but in a vacuum, "gay people shouldn't own firearms because they will just get depressed and kill themselves" is like something my 80 year old Vietnam veteran father would remark casually during some sort of family gathering and then get REALLY surprised when absolutely everyone got mad at him
#lmao#i dont even have a serious invested position here because its such a complicated issue but youve got to admit this particular framing#is incredibly funny#its like a throwaway line from Arrested Development#the fragility of the homosexual mind cant handle the responsibility of a firearm you see#this is like all those posts on here i see every day from people talking about how irrational and emotional they are bc theyre menstruating#let us consider the implications#together!

I did not notice Dementus' right hand until somebody on Reddit pointed it out.
When his authority over the Mortiflyers is called into questions, he pulls a gun on the Octoboss to get him to comply!
But let's look at this again.
He doesn't actually carry his revolver in a holster. During the five-bike teddy scene I was almost in fits trying to figure out how it's attached to his belt, because it's just chilling there with no visible carry apparatus. From the looks of it, he's got it attached to some kind of hinge, so he doesn't have to draw it to shoot someone. Kind of an improved quick-draw, where he's planning to shoot from the hip.
This has several drawbacks. First of all, shooting from the hip is hilariously inaccurate, like seriously you're skipping the entire step of aiming. Second, with Dementus' setup here, he can't follow a target if it moves without turning his whole body. Literally the only situation where he could expect to hit his target is if they were standing three feet in front of him and caught totally off guard. The Octoboss is significantly further away, and presumably knows about the revolver Dementus openly carries in this configuration. He has room to move out of the line of fire, and his own weapon is much more accessible and easier to aim. If this turned into an actual gunfight, the Octoboss would have to be very, very unlucky not to win.
Also, Dementus doesn't even have his finger near the trigger, let alone on it; he's put just enough of his hand on the grip to tilt the piece up. Actually firing the gun would take a second or two of fumbling around, and in that second the Octoboss could would gain the upper hand. I have to wonder if he even carries it loaded; we never see him fire it, and the only other person we see handle it (Furiosa, at the end) had to load it before she put it to his head.
Conclusion: Dementus isn't making a threat he plans to follow through on, he's posturing. That's probably why nobody seems particularly shocked or threatened, and why the Octoboss seems more exasperated than anything else. He knows Dementus can't and won't actually do shit to him; he knows where he stands in terms of loyalty and probably expects Dementus to know too, at this point. Yeah, Dementus overstepped by trying to shove one of his men around, but does he seriously want to turn this into a dick-measuring contest right now? "Just do what he says."
There's so much character development in these ten seconds of film alone. Just from this interaction, you can infer so much about these two men, their relationship to each other, and their status within their group.
P.S. As someone with a lifetime of handling firearms, I would be so pissed if someone pulled this shit on me. We're taught from before we even touch a gun not to point it at anything we are not willing to destroy; if you point a gun at me, I expect that you are trying to kill me, which like, at least you're being honest. But brandish a weapon, especially in a way where we both know you can't do shit and you're just trying to look tough? Buddy, you're gonna wish you fucking killed me.

lets kill Sensei Au
Does afo teach them about villainy and intimidation tactics ? If he taught history je would probably just spend the entire class calling put govarment propaganda and telling the truth .
He's a very good teacher! I'm not sure UA was expecting their students to have once weekly classes on manipulation, human anatomy and acting, but 1C makes the most of it! Their chemistry classes focus maybe a little too long on the toxic stuff, and their biology classes are probably criminal, but hes a shockingly good teacher!
His history lessons leave a little to be desired, admittedly. His sources are all "i was there" which are impossible to cite! The day Shinso recovers some credible sources about an anti-quirk riot AfO started 200 years ago, AfO is so impressed he promises to stand still for a whole minute! None of them manage to kill him, but it was productive, at least! Izuku got some great quirk data!
#asks#lets kill sensei au#bnha au#present mic still teaches english - and he helps with phys ed#imagine being aizawa in that situation#you see ur best friend running high level knife drills and firearms handling#and all of the gen ed students studiously taking notes#like man what the fuck

The article "Top 3 Methods for Shooting with a Handheld Flashlight" by Hunt Fish Shoot discusses effective techniques for utilizing a handheld flashlight while shooting. Originally, firearms like the 1911 and earlier polymer-framed, striker-fired guns lacked rails for weapon lights, but many modern handguns feature accessory rails. For handguns without built-in lights, the article focuses on methods to use handheld lights effectively in low-light conditions. It highlights the Jawline or Temple Index, FBI Carry, and Harries Technique as the primary shooting techniques. Each method has its advantages; the Jawline or Temple Index offers easy scanning and direction of light, the FBI Carry has safety benefits by keeping the light away from the shooter's body, and the Harries Technique provides stabilization but carries some risks of self-flagging. Light discipline, not pointing the light unnecessarily, is emphasized as crucial in tactical situations. The author personally prefers the Jawline or Temple Index but encourages readers to try all methods to see what works best for their shooting style.
